Students in Mrs. Johnson's 4K Class had a VERY special visitor this week in their classroom! 📖 . 👉 UW-Platteville Men's Basketball player, Miles Hettinger, read "The Day the Crayons Quit" -- a class favorite! . These students participated in the Reading with Pioneers program put on every year by the UW Platteville Men's Basketball team & Coach Jeff Gard. We are SO excited to be the recipient of a Wisconsin Local Foods for Schools Program grant because it means we can bring FRESH & LOCAL fruits & vegetables to our lunch program! 🥦 . Our district has chosen to partner with Blue Barrell Produce (Cuba City, WI) to have new, colorful, organically-grown local veggies available for our students! 🥕 . Last week, students from the Platteville High School Intro to Education Class completed a set of classroom observations at Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center! 🍎 . 👉 This class is new to the high school this year and serves as a dual credit (high school & college) credit through our partner, UW-Platteville! . Last week, the Platteville Regional Chamber hosted their Good Morning Platteville event with us! ☀️ . 👉 It was a great morning for all as the New Teaching Staff had the opportunity to meet members of the Platteville Community -- which also included a special visit from longtime Platteville educator, Mr. Bob Bennett! . Our Hillmen Football Team took a tour of the progress happening at the Activities Complex last week! 🏈 . Students in Miss Klas's Summer School Class got a glimpse of "Life on the Farm" last week! 🐴 . A special pony named Queen came to school to visit - Miss Klas taught these students all about horses including how to feed them and to care for them! .
