district PLC

True progress can only be achieved when everyone works together. Today, our staff celebrated the product of their hard work!

The Platteville School District has become a Model PLC District with all four of our schools being Model PLC schools, the first school district in the state of Wisconsin to achieve this honor. Every one of our schools has shown at least 3 consistent years of increased student learning at the state level

What is a PLC and why is it important? About four years ago, our district constructed a multi-year plan for improving our overall student achievement and put into motion becoming a professional learning community (PLC). What we wanted to achieve was far-above-average student growth, especially among multilingual learners, economically disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities.

In the last week, our Platteville Middle School achieved Model PLC Status, solidifying this rare and commendable achievement. This school year also showed Platteville Middle School as the top academically performing school in our district!

At the heart of this accomplishment is our mission: "Ensure High Levels of Learning for All in a Safe, Inclusive Learning Community; Every Student, Every Day." This mission guides every team, decision, and strategy within the district. It serves as the foundation for collaborative practices and helps keep the focus squarely on what matters most—learning for all.
