The Student Services Department includes Special Education Services (ages 3-21), as well as other student supports: School Counselors, School Psychologists, English Learners (EL), and School Nurses.

"Greetings! My name is Dr. Maxwell Long and I'm honored to serve as Director of Student Services for the Platteville School District. Over the past ten years, It has been my great pleasure to serve as a special education teacher at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Also, I previously served as a consult for students with Autism and was a middle school track coach. I have spent time in the outside service sector as an autism therapist and clinical case manager. My family is from Manitowoc, Wisconsin where we resided for over a decade. My wife, Natalie, and I are fortunate to have two amazing twin boys, Charles and Nelson. We also just had an addition to the family in May. Kennedy Rose joins our family, and we are transitioning well to this wonderful community. I was raised in northern Illinois and made many memorable trips to Grant County for camping and fishing in my youth. It is truly a privilege to live in such a beautiful area. I am looking forward to working with families and school professionals to ensure the success of all our Hillmen!
