The Platteville High School Jazz Ensemble is made up of interested band students in grades 9-12. Jazz Ensembles are typically made up of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section (drums, bass, piano, guitar). Students who play other instruments are occasionally involved in the ensemble as well. Depending on interest level, auditions may be held for positions in the jazz ensemble.

The Jazz Ensemble typically meets once a week prior to the beginning of the school day. Students will explore this musical genre through the performance of jazz, swing, bebop, rock, latin, and other popular musical styles. The Jazz Ensemble performs several times each school year at various concerts and festivals.

All members of the Platteville High School Band are encouraged to perform in this fun and musically rewarding ensemble.
