The Platteville High School Fall Play program is designed to provide a training ground for students interested in the theatre arts. Students will develop skills in the areas of public performance and technical production. The program is open to any student in good standing and in regular attendance in grades 9-12.
The program begins the first week of September and ends the third week of November. Open auditions are held the first week of September. Students not chosen for performing roles will be offered positions as part of the production crew (e.g., student director, sound, lights, etc.). Rehearsal times vary based on the participants but are usually held after school and in the evenings.
The Fall Play participates in the Wisconsin High School Forensics Associations' Fall Play Festival. This festival is an adjudicated competition consisting of a sub-district, district, sectional, and state level. The district competition is held at Platteville High School, and the sectional and state competitions are held at various universities in the state. The season concludes with the three day state festival where the surviving entries compete before their peers for individual and group awards.
Students are expected to:
1. Attend all practices and contests, unless previously excused.
2. Represent Platteville High School in a very positive manner.
3. Listen attentively and courteously to other competitors at all times.
4. Demonstrate a willingness to work with the coach and other members of the cast and crew.
5. Understand that judges' opinions at competitions will vary widely and respect their opinions.

7. Ride the bus to and from competitions with the rest of the cast and crew unless excused prior to a competition.
8. Maintain a professional appearance during competitions.
9. Be organized and prepared for rehearsals and competitions.
10. Celebrate the satisfaction received through bringing a piece of drama to the stage.
Through participation in this program, students will:
