The Platteville High School boys' soccer program competes at the junior varsity and varsity levels. The varsity team competes in the WIAA tournament series at the end of the season.
Practices are held after school for both teams. Occasionally, morning or Saturday practices may be scheduled during the first week of practice. Once classes begin, practice will be from 4:00 until 6:00.
Expectations for participants in this program include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Academic success.
2. Punctuality and attendance at all practices and contests, unless previously excused by the coach.
3. Represent self, team, school, and family in a very positive manner.
4. Exemplify good sportsmanship.
5. Demonstrate responsible team play and cooperation.
6. Show Platteville school pride at all times.
7. The season begins early August and ends in late October.
8. Team members are expected to dress as a team the day of the contest.
9. Team members must ride the bus or school vans to and from the contests. If parents want to make special arrangements because of unusual circumstances, they must inform the coach in writing. The coach will then decide whether or not to honor this request upon seeing the parent.
10. Coaches should be notified by the student and/or parent about any special medical concerns before the season begins.
11. Awards will be presented at the end of the season to those who have completed the season. Varsity players will be awarded letters and JV players will be awarded certificates. Special awards given at the varsity level include captain, most valuable player, and most improved.
12. Hard work at all times.
