IT DON'T MEAN A THING,
IF IT AIN'T GOT THAT SWING...
Blue Notes is a select vocal ensemble open to choir members in grades 9-12. Ten to twenty positions are filled each September by audition. The group performs for sporting events, community events, solo/ensemble, and the Pops concert in May.
The ensemble studies and performs music in the jazz idiom from swing to pop to blues to everything in between. Blue Notes singers enjoy performing both acapella and accompanied tunes for appreciative audiences. Blue Notes rehearse once per week before school at 7:30 a.m. They perform in black and/or white clothing unique to each individual.
Expectations for participants in Blue Notes include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Singers are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances unless excused by the director.
2. Folders and music are the property of Platteville High School and must be taken care of properly.
3. Maintain adequate vocal hygiene—take care of your voice.
4. Know your part—be a leader.
5. Have fun!
