Student Services Staff

Danette Tessmnn has been with the Platteville School District since 1990.  She coordinates efforts in the district to curb alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse among teenagers.  This includes coordinating curriculum that addresses risk behaviors.  Ms.Tessmann is also a counseling resource to help students who seek or are referred for help due to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.

Mary Klarer Logemann (Mary Kay) obtained her BSN from UW Madison and her Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.  Before coming to Platteville Public Schools she worked in the areas of public health, home care, orthopedics, and cardiology. Mrs. Logemann has been the nurse for Platteville Public Schools since 1990.  Her main office is located at Platteville Middle School.  She is responsible for the health services for all Platteville students.  The school nurse helps to strengthen the educational process of students by ensuring the provision of health services, promoting health and wellness through preventative programs, and providing health education.  As more students come to school with special health care needs, the nurse provides support for students, families and the educators who care for them.
