The Platteville School District C.A.R.E. program will be located at neal Wilkins Early Learning Center and will begin operation on Tuesday, September 1, 2011, the first day of school. The program follows the school calendar, operating from 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program will also operate on Early Release Days (the second Wednesday of October, December, January, February and May) from 12:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The Platteville School District C.A.R.E. program will be available for children enrolled in the First Step four-year-old program through sixth grade. Busing is available after school from Westview Elementary and Platteville Middle School to the C.A.R.E. program at Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center.
APPROXIMATE DAILY SCHEDULE
3:15 - 3:40 p.m. - Arrival, participants settle into a new atmosphere. Snacks are prepared, restroom breaks, activity centers.
3:40 - 3:55 p.m. - Snacks.
3:55 - 5:00 p.m. - Activity centers which may include games, activities, outside play, gym time, homework, etc.
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Freetime, clean up.
